5) Windows Browser
{Capture.JPG}
In the address bar of the Windows Browser, the actual path has been replaced with clickable location names. Now this is a little annoying because if I have an actual path to paste into the bar or if I want to edit the address, I have to click a little away from the location names. This is a huge change from the default behavior. More often than not I end up clicking the location names are to edit it (and this is quite intuitive behavior) and I end up going to that folder location.

Overview and Summary
Today, we looked at the assignment a bit more closely, and discussed the chapter in Class Matters titled "The Five-Bedroom, Six-Figure Rootless Life." We tied both together by asking what it means to have a "hometown," and whether or not we care about knowing where we will end our lives. I asked that all students think about what it means to have "roots," and how the assignment mediates our understanding in this regard.

{http://www.windowsnetworking.com/img/upl/image0021250277404732.jpg} If I move the window to a left or right side and hold it there for 1-2 seconds, Windows pops up a bordered frame for the windows to be placed in. This occupies about one half of the screen. So if I want to compare documents side by side, I can do this very quickly.

Below is a scene that is mentioned in the discussion threads. Please contribute what you can to these threads. Also, be sure to think about the idea of "quickening" as this is discussed there, as this has a great deal to do with judgment and evaluation. I have included a song by Aimee Mann below, as Some of you expressed an interst in her music, when I mentioned her in class.

Windows 7
While it is not possible to fully evaluate the UI of Windows 7 in 500 words, I will enlist few things I like about it and few things I don’t like about it.
Pros:
1) Taskbar Icons
{http://media.arstechnica.com/images/windows7/Windows%20Taskbar%20Previews.png} No more window tabs in the taskbars. Instead they are replaced with smaller and cooler Icons. There is also no clutter of tabs grouped one below the other. It now has a preview for each of the windows open under the same application
2) Aero Snap
{http://www.windowsnetworking.com/img/upl/image0021250277404732.jpg} If I move the window to a left or right side and hold it there for 1-2 seconds, Windows pops up a bordered frame for the windows to be placed in. 2) A Novel Human Interface of an Omni-directional Wheelchair
This paper discusses an innovative user interface for Wheel chair. It involves a touch panel where the user only has to select the next destination and the chair, which comes with an auto-detection for obstacles, moves by itself to that destination. Thus the user has minimal interaction with the chair.
