UML Wiki FAQ for Faculty and Staff1. How do I signup for an account on the wiki? Simply click "Sign In," and then enter your full UML email address. Make sure to include @uml.edu, and use your email password. 2. Yay, I can log into the system—but I still can't edit my colleague's wiki! After you have an account on the whole system, you still must be added—by your colleague—to her or his particular wiki. Go to that wiki, and click “Join This Space” in the left-menu. Now it's up to your colleague to accept you as a member of her/his wiki. Once she/he approves you, you will be a member of that wiki, and you can make edits. Congratulations! 3. I want my own wiki! Yes, of course. First, you must sign into the wiki at least one time (this automatically creates your account)—see answer #1, above. Then read our community guidelines about naming spaces. Then send us an email with your desired space name to wiki-admin@weblab.cs.uml.edu. 4. I want some non-UML colleagues to be added as members, so they can view/edit my wiki. Please see information about collaborator-accounts. 5. Why do student wiki username have an extra “_s” at the end? We needed a way to make sure faculty/staff and students, who might have the same real name (e.g., “Mary Smith”), have a different wiki username. So we decided to add the “_s” (for student) to all student usernames. |
